Methodology
Every exchange gets a single headline rating — feixiaohao's exrank, on a 0–10 scale. exrank is itself the average of five sub-ratings: Volume, Assets, Credit, Fundamentals, and Risk. Each is a 0–10 score produced by feixiaohao. The score card on every exchange page shows the composite at the top and the five inputs below, so you can see exactly what's behind the number.

Volume
Measures 24-hour trading activity. Higher volume means deeper order books and tighter spreads, but feixiaohao normalises for wash-trading patterns before scoring.
Assets
Asset reserves and proof-of-reserves quality. Rewards exchanges that hold customer assets transparently and at adequate ratios. The single most important input after a CEX collapse.
Credit
Trust and compliance footprint — regulatory standing, license filings, operational history, and incident record. Penalises exchanges with unresolved hacks, insolvency events, or regulatory actions.
Fundamentals
Platform fundamentals — pair coverage, listed coins, supported markets (spot / derivatives / margin), and product breadth. Captures whether the exchange is a complete venue or a niche one.
Risk
Stability and risk-management quality — insurance fund size, liquidation engine behaviour, system uptime, and historical extreme-market resilience.
How to read an exrank
exrank runs 0 to 10, but the practical signal is which band an exchange sits in. Four working tiers we use when scanning the directory.
Flagship
EXRANK 9.0+Deepest order books, robust reserves, clean compliance footprint. The venues most traders default to.
Binance · Coinbase Pro · OKXEstablished
EXRANK 7.5 – 8.9Solid, well-known venues. Some thinner coverage or jurisdiction-specific quirks, but no red flags.
Kraken · Bitfinex · Bybit · KucoinEmerging
EXRANK 5.5 – 7.4Newer or narrower venues. May have niche strengths (regional fiat rails, specific derivatives) but trade off on breadth or treasury transparency.
Region-specific or product-specific exchangesWatch
EXRANK < 5.5Limited reserves, unresolved incidents, or thin markets. Use only with eyes wide open.

Data sources
All market data — volumes, pair counts, exrank ratings, sparklines — is pulled live from feixiaohao's public market-data feed. feixiaohao in turn aggregates and scores exchanges through DSE (Data Sense Engine), a third-party engine that structures public exchange data into the multi-dimensional ratings you see here. fexchang reformats, presents, and translates it. We do not collect, mediate, or route trades; this is a directory, not a brokerage.
DSE (datasenseengine.com) → feixiaohao public market feed → fexchang reformat & translate → you.
FAQ
How often is the data updated?
Listing-grade data refreshes every 60 seconds. Exchange detail pages refresh every 2 minutes. Cross-exchange pair pages refresh every 60 seconds.
Why is Coinbase ranked above OKX despite lower volume?
Ranking is composite, not pure volume. Coinbase has materially higher trust and asset-reserve scores, which the ranking weights together with 24h volume.
Is this investment advice?
No. fexchang is an informational ranking. Always do your own due diligence; trading crypto carries substantial risk.
